2020 Favorite Reads

We only have a few days left before the year ends and I don’t think I’ll be able to finish another book by then because I’m going to be helping my mom prepare food for Noche Buena and Media Noche! We’ll be making my favorite macaroni salad and mashed potatoes which I am really looking forward to. Haha

I’ll still be doing a lot of reading, of course! I just don’t want to pressure myself with finishing another book before the year ends. Besides, I’ve already read 13 books past my Goodreads challenge! Anyway, so before we welcome another year, I’d like to share with you my 2020 favorites reads:

Unlike other book bloggers, mine aren’t exactly new releases. As I’ve mentioned in some of my previous posts, a lot of other things took over my life in the past years and even though I have still been reading then, I know that I haven’t been reading as much and I haven’t been as updated with new releases as I used to. So this year, despite it being a very good reading year for me, most of the books I’ve read were released a long time ago. It doesn’t really bother me that much because I believe that there is no required timeline when it comes to reading books, but I still wish I got to read some of my most anticipated books this year. But there are still so many series I’d like to catch up to and so many standalones I’d like to dive into.

Looking back, though, I’m happy with what I was able to accomplish reading-wise. I went out of my “reading comfort zone” and discovered my love for mystery/thrillers! I just couldn’t stop reading them that most of the books I’ve read this year are standalone thrillers. I also got to read a couple of non-fiction books which I never thought I’d enjoy.

Aside from that, I also tried listening to audiobooks and ever since I listened to Becoming by Michelle Obama, my perspective about audiobooks has changed. In fact, I am now listening to A Promised Land by Barack Obama and really enjoying it as well.

I have so many reading milestones this year and I am really happy about it! It’s one of the few things that I consider an accomplishment this year.

How about you? What are your accomplishments this year?
