I know this is a week too late, but I’ve been trying to write this ever since January 1st and I just can’t seem to find the right words to write this blog post. I have a couple of resolutions in mind and have probably told a couple of my bookish friends about it. A couple of days ago, my friend Angele @ Angele Reads Books tagged me to do The New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge! Just like her, it’s my first book tag here on my blog and I’ve decided to do it along with my personal bookish resolutions. Continue reading →
December was a great month for relaxing and just catching up with family and friends. I’ve been quite busy scheduling appointments with my doctor and/or online consultation requests because of a medical condition that I found out about myself in 2019. I had to schedule another lab test to follow my doctor’s advise to monitor the condition every six months. Apparently, my lab result didn’t turn out good, so I needed to undergo another test for second opinion. Anyways, given all that, I still had a great time during the days when I get to rest. I’ve watched a lot of movies, series, and anime! ♡
With all that has happened in the past couple of weeks of December, I’ve only read two books, so I am planning on reading as much as I can this month and have included four books in this list:
My True Love Gave To Me (anthology) edited by Stephanie Perkins
The Fifth Season (Broken Earth Trilogy, #1) by N.K. Jemisin
The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams
The Guest List by Lucy Foley
Hopefully, I can get to all these in this month. If not, I can always carry them over for next month. No need to pressure myself into reading so many books because one of my 2021 reading resolutions is to take my time when it comes to reading as I’d love to enjoy every minute of the world that I am in instead of reading faster and not being able to devour every moment.
This year is one of the best reading years for me and the entirety of 2020 was spent catching up on series and releases that I have not been able to read the past couple of years. It’s also the year where I bought so many books as I wanted to support my local bookstores during the pandemic. I’ve bought a lot of books that have been sitting on my Goodreads want-to-read shelf for years now, and I am so happy about it. Now, I just need more time to read all of them.
There are also books sitting on my physical shelves for years and still haven’t gotten to them because ever since I started working six years ago, I didn’t have a lot of time reading except for those years where I feel really lost and turn all my attention into reading. Anyway, I’ll be listing all of them in this post and, hopefully, I get to read every book on this list in 2021. Continue reading →
Hi, everyone! We’re now down to the last month of the year and, wow, did time fly way too fast. At this point, I’m not even sure if that’s a good thing because it sure felt like I’ve lost a year of my life at home. Haha But despite this year being a pain in the arse, it sure as heck been one of the greatest reading year I’ve had since 2017. 2017 was a very challenging year for me, and one thing I realized now is that I do turn to books for comfort whenever life becomes too hard for me to bear.
So today, I’m doing the End of the Year Book Tag which I’ve been seeing around the booktube community and saw that one of my bookish friends here in the internet did it on her blog, too. I remember doing a similar post to this one at the first half of the year, so I decided to do it now, too: Continue reading →
2020 was not easy for all of us, especially with the whole world on lockdown or quarantine and are all so ready to leave this year behind and hope the best for 2021. Yet I still couldn’t bring myself to believe that we’re already down to the last month of the year!
So now I’m down to my last TBR for 2020. Honestly, I admit that may be quite ambitious with my TBR this month given that I was only able to finish a book or two in the previous months (and some manga, comics, or poem books which are really short), but our office is usually closed during the holidays, so we are on mandatory day for almost two weeks! Of course, since the virus is still out there, I plan on spending most of the free time I have reading. As you all know, despite being able to put a dent on my physical TBR this year, I also accumulated A LOT of books so it feels like I didn’t put a dent at all. Haha Continue reading →
